Privacy Policy

In short
SnapJury is designed to work on your device. We collect no data on our servers: in fact we have no server that receives your teaching data. Your students, rubrics, assessments, comments and dictations stay on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Data controller
Vincent MARY (sole trader / micro-entrepreneur), 78 rue de Stalingrad, 78500 Sartrouville, France.
Contact: contact@snapjury.fr — contact form at snapjury.fr.
Data processed and where it goes
- Teaching data (students, rubrics, assessments, grades, comments): stored locally on the device. If you enable iCloud, it is synchronised across your devices through your private iCloud account (CloudKit); the publisher has no access to it.
- Microphone and speech recognition: the transcription of your dictated comment happens entirely on the device. The audio is not sent to the publisher or any third party, and is not kept beyond the transcription you validate. SnapJury does not listen to students: only the comment you deliberately dictate is transcribed.
- Writing assistance: formatting of the summary happens on the device (Apple's on-device models where available). No content is sent to an external server.
- Purchases and subscriptions: handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive neither your payment details nor your purchase identity.
Data minimisation
SnapJury only processes the student's first name and last name, which are needed to identify assessments. The app neither requests nor manages a date of birth, email address, phone number or any other data that would identify the student beyond that name.
Minors and comments
The students concerned may be minors. Comments entered in the app must remain strictly educational, i.e. related to the assessed work, and must not contain sensitive data (in particular relating to health, private life or behaviour). The teacher using SnapJury remains responsible for how they use it, in compliance with the rules of their institution.
What we do not do
- No data collection on our servers.
- No advertising, no trackers, no third-party analytics tools.
- No transmission of your students' data to third parties.
Third-party services
- iCloud / CloudKit (Apple): if synchronisation is enabled, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- App Store (Apple): processing of purchases, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Retention
Data is kept for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete it at any time within the app, or by uninstalling the app (and deleting the associated iCloud data from your Apple settings).
Your rights (GDPR)
Because the data stays on your device and your iCloud, you keep direct control of it (access, rectification, deletion) from within the app. For any question regarding your rights, contact: contact@snapjury.fr.
Website and audience measurement
The snapjury.fr website uses Google Analytics to measure its audience, only if you accept via the cookie banner. Until you accept, no measurement cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time via the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of the page. This applies to the website only: the SnapJury app itself contains no ads, no trackers and no third-party analytics.
